New Directions in Turkish Film Studies Conference is the oldest and most established conference series in the field of cinema studies in Turkey. The first conference, organized by Prof. Dr. Deniz Bayrakdar at Istanbul Bilgi University in 1999, spent its first two years at Bilgi University and then, from 2001 to 2005, was hosted by Bahçeşehir University. Starting from 2006, the conference has been organized at Kadir Has University. Books compiled from the papers presented at each conference have been published by Bağlam Publishing House. The conference aims to provide a platform for researchers, industry professionals, and anyone with academic interest in the field to come together, present, and share their ideas, while nourishing and refreshing their perspectives through mutual exchange.
